Our History
AvidLaw, LLC is an Arizona based document assembly software and service provider. We develop document assembly solutions that maximize productivity and profitability. Our customized document assembly solutions are used by premier law firms and other clients across the United States. AvidLaw Probate for Arizona informal probate pleadings is our flagship subscription forms set launched in January 2006, is redefining Arizona informal probate practice.
Our founder, Clifford P. Jones, is an attorney who has worked in the document assembly arena since 1981. He began working with CAPS (a DOS-based document assembly product) in the early ’80′s before it was a commercial product. After a year of document assembly work at West Publishing and four years as a practicing attorney at Holme Roberts & Owen in Denver, Jones founded the predecessor to AvidLaw to offer document drafting tools to law firms and corporations across the country.
Since 1990, we’ve designed dozens of document assembly applications that meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and subscribers. We’ve served clients across the country, including Davis Polk & Wardwell and Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler in New York, Jenner & Block in Chicago, Drinker Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia, Garvey Schubert & Barer in Seattle, and Matthew Bender (LexisNexis) in Albany. While our history predates HotDocs, we’ve used HotDocs since its inception and now continue to use it as one of our template development software packages. We also use XpressDox, an exciting new package with a growing list of important features.
Jones is a well known document assembly expert. Over the years, we have designed and implemented HotDocs and XpressDox template sets for a variety of substantive areas.
